The Martyr

The saint of the blind, who welcomes the sightless wandering souls from the shores of the river Acheron, and guides them to her temple, to live out an eternity of peace in her care.
Blindness is a unique malady in Mausolea, as most failings of the mortal form, either suffered in life or in death, are shed along with the body as the soul arrives in this new world.
But blindness here is blindness of the soul, a life lived in dilusion and ignorance, without pity for the weak , ill, or foolish. It is a strange turn of fate, but one that can be cured over time,
through reflection and thoughtful service in the care of others. and that is the task of the one known as the Martyr.
